Orders Report

The orders report shows order volume, revenue, and trends across every channel you sell on. Use it to spot growth, compare marketplaces, and catch slow weeks before they become slow months.

What it shows

The report is a dashboard of the core order metrics, plotted over the time period you choose. Data comes from orders that have been imported or created in Commerce Kitty during the selected window.

  • Order count. How many orders were placed in the period. Cancelled orders can be included or excluded using the filters.
  • Total revenue. The sum of order totals in the period. Shown in the currency of each channel. If you have channels in multiple currencies, totals are shown per currency rather than converted.
  • Average order value. Revenue divided by order count. A useful signal of whether a marketing change is moving basket size or just traffic.
  • Orders over time. A trend line you can use to spot weekly and seasonal patterns.

Filters

Time period

Pick a preset window (last 7 days, last 30 days, last quarter, year to date) or enter a custom date range. The report recomputes whenever you change this.

Channel

Limit the report to one channel or a subset of channels. Leave it blank to see the whole business. Filtering by channel is the fastest way to compare performance between marketplaces side by side.

Status

Choose whether to include cancelled, refunded, or test orders. By default the report shows only fulfillable orders so the numbers match what you actually earn.

Multi-currency accounts: the report does not convert between currencies. If your Shopify store is in USD and your Amazon UK account is in GBP, you will see two revenue rows. This keeps the numbers honest and matches what each marketplace reports.

Reading the data

A rising order count with a flat average order value usually means a traffic win. A flat order count with a rising average order value usually means a merchandising or upsell win. Both numbers rising together is a real growth signal. Both falling together is a problem worth investigating the same day.
