eBay
Connect Commerce Kitty to your eBay seller account to import listings and orders, keep quantities in sync, and upload tracking after you ship.
What it does
The eBay plugin uses eBay's modern REST APIs with OAuth to manage your active listings and orders. Once connected, Commerce Kitty can pull your live inventory, import new orders, decrement quantity as you sell elsewhere, and push tracking details back to eBay so buyers get shipping notifications.
Both individual and business eBay accounts are supported. Store subscriptions are not required, but if you have one the plugin will honor your listing limits and fee structure.
Setup
eBay connects through OAuth, so you do not paste any keys or tokens by hand. Commerce Kitty walks you through eBay's consent screen and stores the resulting token for you.
- From the plugin form, click Connect to eBay.
- Sign in to eBay with the account that owns the listings you want to sync.
- Review the permissions eBay asks you to grant and click Agree.
- eBay redirects you back to Commerce Kitty. The plugin is now authorized.
If you ever need to re-authorize (for example, if you changed your eBay password or revoked access), click Reconnect on the plugin page and repeat the flow.
Fields
User Token
Stored automatically after you complete the OAuth flow. You do not enter this field by hand. Commerce Kitty refreshes the token in the background so you do not have to think about it.
Account Label
A friendly name for this connection, useful if you manage more than one eBay account. This label only shows inside Commerce Kitty.
Plugin Options
Import Listings
Pulls your active eBay listings into Commerce Kitty. Listings are matched on Custom Label (SKU) when possible. Listings without a SKU are imported as standalone products so you can assign one later.
Import Orders
Brings new eBay orders into Commerce Kitty as soon as they are paid. Includes buyer info, shipping address, item details, and any eBay fees so your accounting stays accurate.
When enabled, this plugin can only be assigned to one channel. Multiple-channel assignment will block order import.
Export Tracking
When you mark a shipment shipped in Commerce Kitty, the tracking number and carrier are uploaded to eBay. eBay marks the order as shipped and notifies the buyer automatically.
Limitations
eBay uses Good Til Cancelled (GTC) listings for most fixed-price inventory. When Commerce Kitty decrements quantity to zero, the listing stays active with a quantity of zero rather than ending. eBay handles automatic renewal for GTC listings on its own schedule, and Commerce Kitty does not interfere with that.
Cancelling orders through Commerce Kitty can impact your eBay seller metrics. eBay tracks a defect rate, and seller-initiated cancellations count against it. Use cancellation sparingly and refund through eBay when a buyer simply changes their mind.
eBay requires item specifics for most categories. The plugin will push whatever specifics you have filled in, but if eBay rejects a listing update for missing required specifics you will need to add them in Commerce Kitty before retrying.
If listings fail to publish or update, check the eBay Seller Hub for any account-level holds or compliance messages. Those block API writes regardless of what Commerce Kitty sends.
