What it does

The Etsy plugin uses the Etsy Open API v3 to sync your active shop. Once authorized, Commerce Kitty pulls your listings, imports new receipts (Etsy's name for orders) as they are paid, keeps quantity in sync as you sell on other channels, and uploads tracking details after you ship so buyers get notified automatically.

Setup

Etsy uses OAuth, so there is no API key to paste. You authorize Commerce Kitty from inside Etsy and the plugin handles the rest.

1. Open the Etsy plugin form in Commerce Kitty and click Connect to Etsy.
2. Sign in with the Etsy account that owns the shop you want to sync.
3. Etsy shows a consent screen listing the permissions Commerce Kitty is asking for (read and write on listings, inventory, transactions, and shop profile). Review and click Allow Access.
4. Etsy redirects you back to Commerce Kitty and the plugin is ready to use.

You only need to do this once per shop. If Etsy ever invalidates the token (for example, after a password reset), click Reconnect on the plugin page.

Fields

Shop

The Etsy shop name associated with your authorized account. Commerce Kitty fetches this automatically after you complete OAuth, so you do not type it in.

Access Token

Stored automatically after authorization. Commerce Kitty refreshes it in the background and you never need to manage it by hand.

Plugin Options

Import Listings

Pulls all active Etsy listings into Commerce Kitty. Listings are matched to existing products by SKU when you have one set, otherwise they are imported as new products. Images, descriptions, tags, and variations come across on the first sync.

Import Orders

Brings Etsy receipts into Commerce Kitty as new orders, including buyer details, shipping address, line items, and any Etsy fees. Gift messages and personalization notes from buyers are preserved on the order.

Export Tracking

When you mark a Commerce Kitty shipment shipped, the tracking number and carrier are pushed to Etsy. Etsy marks the receipt as shipped and emails the buyer.

Limitations

Etsy listings renew automatically every four months or when they sell out. Commerce Kitty does not manage the renewal fee or force-renew listings. Renewals happen on Etsy's normal schedule and are billed by Etsy.

Etsy represents variations as properties and property values (for example, a "Size" property with values "Small", "Medium", "Large"). Commerce Kitty models variations using product options. The plugin maps between the two, but complex Etsy listings with custom or rarely-used properties can sometimes need manual cleanup after import.

One-of-a-kind items with a quantity of one are supported, but as soon as the listing sells Etsy deactivates it. Commerce Kitty will not attempt to re-list or re-activate sold-out OOAK items.

Digital downloads can be imported and their orders processed for accounting, but Etsy delivers the files directly to buyers. Commerce Kitty does not touch digital file delivery.
